Schaumburg, Illinois · Offices, retail & construction

Electrical work for Schaumburg’s offices, retail, and next build-out.

From a new office layout to shopping-center lighting or a ground-up building, the electrical scope has to fit the people using the space and the schedule for delivering it. LH Block brings documented Schaumburg project experience to that conversation.

Built around your facility

One business community. Several kinds of buildings.

Schaumburg’s economic-development material describes a substantial mix of retail, restaurant, office, and industrial space. That mix makes a single generic electrical scope unhelpful: an office renovation, an occupied shopping center, and a new commercial building each need different coordination.

For owners and general contractors

Define the tenant’s requirements early, including furniture power, lighting controls, mechanical connections, and any work beneath existing floors. Align electrical rough-in with the construction sequence.

For occupied-property managers

Plan access around tenants, deliveries, parking, and customer routes. Identify which loads are affected before scheduling a power interruption or considering temporary power.

Before you request an estimate

Before setting the opening or renovation date.

Separate the customer-facing deadline from the steps needed to get there: equipment procurement, rough-in, inspections, energization, and final connections.

Discuss the scope
  1. Share tenant plans, furniture layouts, equipment schedules, and lighting requirements.
  2. Clarify landlord work, tenant work, and responsibilities assigned to other contractors.
  3. Identify areas that must remain occupied and any approved after-hours access.
  4. Review electrical equipment lead times and utility dependencies alongside the construction schedule.
Questions worth asking

A clearer scope starts with a conversation.

Can workstation power require work beneath an existing floor?

It can. At Crown Lift Trucks, LH Block installed underground conduit and restored affected concrete as part of the revised office layout. The pathway depends on the building and furniture plan.

Can you help keep a shopping center operating during repairs?

We discuss affected loads, tenant access, and whether temporary power is practical. At Scharrington Square, temporary generator power supported parking-lot lighting during an overnight refeed. That project is an example, not a promise that every repair can avoid interruption.

Do you support new construction as well as renovations?

Yes. The Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool project in Schaumburg included service equipment, underground pathways, lighting, and equipment connections.
