Electrical work for a changing facility.
LH Block Electric provides electrical improvements and ongoing support for a specialty vehicle manufacturer in Elgin, Illinois. Our projects help adapt the facility as production equipment, assembly areas, and building needs change.
Adapting power to the production layout
As production work cells were rearranged, LH Block Electric relocated and reconfigured equipment power connections and electrical distribution to match the revised floor plan. We coordinated the work in phases to accommodate changes across multiple manufacturing areas.
The work included crane and exhaust-fan feeds, forklift charging connections, and column-mounted distribution. A separate office-to-mezzanine panel relocation provided additional receptacle circuits and an air-conditioning power connection.
Making use of existing equipment
At the customer’s request, LH Block Electric reused existing electrical equipment wherever practical during the relocations. This approach helped control project costs while adapting the installation to the revised manufacturing layout.
Additional work across the facility
Manufacturing equipment power
Electrical power connections for an air compressor with scrubber and dryer, a fiber laser, a hoist, and a reverse-osmosis pump. We also adapted the power supply for fans and relocated production equipment to suit their updated locations and operating requirements.
Building equipment connections
Electrical connections for two new rooftop HVAC units serving the office and a new exhaust fan installed by others. Our work provided the power infrastructure needed to connect this building equipment to the facility’s electrical distribution.
Exterior and storage-area lighting
Exterior LED lighting improvements covered employee entrances, loading docks, parking areas, the courtyard, and flagpole, including replacement driveway light heads. We also completed the electrical installation for two new 30-foot light poles serving outdoor material storage.
Electric vehicle charging
Two outdoor Level 2 charging stations support the manufacturer’s electric vehicles. LH Block completed the charging infrastructure and equipment connections, then commissioned and verified the chargers under power.
The result
The electrical work brought power to revised equipment locations and new installations, expanded exterior lighting, and added charging for electric vehicles. Our ongoing support allows the manufacturer to address further electrical changes as the facility evolves.
