Power distribution & upgrades

Electrical service and distribution upgrades for growing businesses, new equipment, and changing facility requirements.

Power distribution

Power for what comes next.

Adding machinery or expanding a space can place new demands on an existing electrical system. We review the project requirements and existing infrastructure to plan the distribution work your facility needs. Access, shutdowns, and coordination with the rest of the project are part of that conversation.

How we can help

  • Electrical service upgrades
  • Distribution panels and switchgear
  • Transformers and equipment feeders
  • Capacity planning for expansions and new machinery

When your facility’s power needs change

New machinery, added warehouse equipment, or a change in building use can prompt a review of electrical distribution. An upgrade is not automatically required for every addition. The scope depends on the existing system, the proposed loads, and how power needs to reach the equipment.

Define capacity and distribution needs together

Send equipment voltage and amperage requirements, available drawings, and information about planned expansion. A project may involve distribution equipment, feeders, branch circuits, or a larger service change. The review should establish which work is needed for the specific facility rather than assume a full replacement.

Coordinate shutdowns and outside dependencies

Some work requires a planned interruption to power. Identify equipment that must remain available, acceptable shutdown windows, and the people who need notice. Where a project involves the utility, engineering, or permitting, those requirements and equipment availability need to be considered when developing the schedule.

A CLEAR PATH FORWARD

From first conversation
to finished work.

01

Review existing capacity and proposed loads

We gather available service information, distribution drawings, and electrical requirements for the equipment being added. Immediate loads and future expansion plans help determine whether the project involves new circuits, distribution modifications, or a larger electrical service upgrade.

02

Plan equipment, outages, and coordination

We define the proposed distribution work and discuss equipment availability, site access, and any utility or engineering involvement. Required power interruptions are planned with your facility team, including the affected areas, acceptable shutdown windows, and the steps needed to prepare the operation.

03

Carry out the distribution upgrade

We coordinate installation of the agreed electrical equipment, feeders, and circuits around the approved work plan. Shutdown and reconnection activities are arranged with the responsible site contacts, and any remaining inspection, utility, or follow-up requirements are reviewed as the project moves toward completion.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

Your questions, answered.

Does adding a machine always require a service upgrade?

Not necessarily. The answer depends on the existing capacity and the new equipment’s electrical requirements. A site review helps define the scope.

Will the power need to be shut off?

Some distribution work requires a planned shutdown. We discuss the necessary outage and coordinate timing with your facility team.

Can an upgrade account for future expansion?

Tell us about anticipated additions during planning so future requirements can be considered alongside the immediate work.

What affects the cost of a distribution upgrade?

The required capacity, type of equipment, circuit and feeder routing, access, and shutdown requirements all affect the scope. Drawings and a site review help establish what is needed before a project-specific quote.

How long does a service upgrade take?

Timing depends on scope, equipment availability, required approvals, utility involvement where applicable, and access to the facility. We discuss those dependencies before committing to a schedule.

What should we provide before a site review?

Share existing drawings or records if available, the new equipment requirements, the property address, and expansion plans. Do not open energized equipment to gather information.
