Generator installation & backup power

Commercial generator installations and standby power infrastructure for facilities that need a plan for utility outages.

Generators & backup power

Plan for the unexpected.

Backup power planning begins with the loads that matter to your operation. We discuss the equipment and systems you want to support, then coordinate the electrical installation and transfer equipment required by the project. The right scope depends on the facility and its operating requirements.

How we can help

  • Commercial generator electrical installation
  • Automatic transfer equipment
  • Standby power infrastructure
  • Coordination of critical loads and facility requirements
A CLEAR PATH FORWARD

From first conversation
to finished work.

01

Identify the loads that need backup power

We discuss the equipment and building systems you want to support during an outage, their electrical requirements, and operating priorities. Available drawings, existing generator information, and future needs help establish whether the project should support selected loads or a broader portion of the facility.

02

Coordinate the generator and transfer plan

We review the proposed electrical connections, transfer equipment, circuit routing, and any required changes to distribution. Equipment location, access, shutdowns, and the responsibilities of suppliers or other trades are discussed with the project team, including applicable engineering, utility, and permitting coordination.

03

Install the electrical infrastructure and coordinate startup

We carry out the agreed generator-related electrical work and transfer-equipment connections. Startup and transfer checks are coordinated with the generator supplier or service provider as required by the project. Remaining inspection, operating-information, and follow-up items are reviewed with your facility contact.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

Your questions, answered.

Does a generator need to power the entire building?

Not always. The project can be planned around selected loads or broader facility needs, depending on the requirements and equipment.

Can you work on a facility with an existing backup system?

Contact us with the existing equipment information and the changes or service you need so we can review the scope.

How is generator size determined?

Sizing requires reviewing the intended loads and equipment characteristics. Share the systems you need to support so those requirements can be evaluated.
